Lucia Capovilla has always had to carve out her own path. Along the way, her Nonna was one of her biggest supporters. And her hard work has paid off; today Lucia is the runner-up world champion in paraclimbing.
Lucia Capovilla was born without a left lower arm. When she started climbing, her grandmother would constantly be testing materials, trying to sew her granddaughter a suitable sock to protect the skin on her left arm while climbing. And she succeeded – although giving up was never an option for Lucia anyway. As a motivational speaker, she now inspires her audience to push their boundaries and surpass their own limits – an attitude that she lives every day. Today, the Italian is one of the best paraclimbers around.
