Rise with the Mountain
Challenges make us grow. As mountaineers, we choose to be active in the most demanding and beautiful environments on earth. Whether it's success at the summit after a seemingly endless ascent or the umpteenth attempt at one of the most difficult routes in the world – those who love mountain sports love a challenge. And that's something we celebrate.
Stories
Discover the stories of people who risk failure. People who throw themselves into adventure only to find the next challenge. People who surpass themselves.
Philosophy
Mountains are big and mighty yet gentle and gracious. They are overwhelming as well as liberating, enlightening as well as exhausting. At Mammut, we firmly believe that our experiences in the mountains make us grow, strengthen our physical and mental health, push us to find more resource-friendly ways of living, and teach us respect and humility.
Our mission is to inspire people and enable them to experience the mountains for themselves. We share summit successes and first attempts at exploration with all who want to be a part of this experience. And we're also there when attempts fail. We give you the confidence and support you need to surpass your own limits.
Grow beyond yourself.
NOT A STREETWEAR BRAND
Not a streetwear brand.
Never have been. Never will be.
We're on a mission to inspire love for the mountains. We want people to get outside, take on new challenges, and find connections in the great outdoors.
Our gear is made for the mountains, not for the streets.
From the idea to the sketch to the prototype to the finished product, we’re about:

In 1862,
Kaspar Tanner founded a rope-making business in the small town of Dintikon in Switzerland. While he initially produced mainly for the agricultural sector, the focus increasingly shifted to mountain sports from the 1950s onwards. And with that also on the subject of safety: Mammut launches the first nylon glacier rope on the market, develops the first Barryvox with the Swiss Army in 1969 to search for avalanche victims and is one of the first brands to use waterproof GORE-TEX functional material. In the 1990s, the first generation of the iconic Eiger Extreme collection for mountaineering was created. Since then, the small Swiss rope manufacturer has become a global brand for mountain sports. But the brand's spirit of innovation is still just as great as it was at the start. In fact, even greater than ever.
