The trail to net zero

Trail running is one of the most basic ways we connect with the natural environment – and one of the most critical in teaching us the value of speeding up to slow down.

Two adventurers in Mammut athletic gear hike up a steep, rocky mountain slope under a clear blue sky in an alpine landscape.

Combining our lightest styles with our most technical fabrics, discover a 100% decarbonized collection made for the churning uphill grind and the exhilarating downward soar.

Drawing inspiration from the trail runners who move in harmony with the mountains, the entire Mammut trail running collection is 100% decarbonized. Going further than carbon avoidance offsets, this means production emissions are not simply compensated for but are physically removed.

To achieve this, we enlisted the help of partners like Climeworks , a pioneer and leader in carbon dioxide removal that uses a technology called ‘direct air capture’ to remove CO₂ from the air. From there, it can be stored deep underground, where it mineralizes through a natural process and transforms into rock.

The result is the safe and permanent removal of CO₂ emissions from the atmosphere, thus eliminating their contribution to climate change – and meaning we can leave the trail as we found it.
