Warranty & Repair
[Avalanche beacons are covered by a five-year warranty if properly registered.]Â
Our quality guarantee doesn’t apply to normal wear and tear or damage caused by accidents or improper use. For example; sharp edges can cause tears or abrasion damage. Trees are known to tear jackets, some rocks you sit on may be abrasive, etc. Though soaking in the sunshine may feel great, prolonged exposure to UV rays sometimes results in color fading. Everyone’s chemical makeup is different, and delamination might occur from body oils and sweat. The deployment handle on your avalanche airbag could break if not packed properly; remember to take a look at the instructions that accompany it. Leaving your item too close to the fire could result in damage, so could leaving it with your dog. While these types of situations are unfortunate, they’re not covered.Â

During the COVID-19 crisis we have received various questions asking how to disinfect our personal protective equipment (PPE). The following statement is intended to provide a guideline.
There are various disinfectants which are effective in relation to the SARS-CoV-2 which causes COVID-19. However, the long-term effects of these disinfectants on the different materials we use for our PPE (PA, PE, HMPE such as Dyneema, etc.) have NOT been tested. Higher temperatures are also an effective way of disinfecting, however the use of higher temperatures for cleaning can damage our fibers and plastics.
Only soap and water should be used to disinfect and clean our equipment. Please follow the instructions in the user manual for each product.
However, as a general guideline:
Hand-wash soiled products in a bathtub in lukewarm (~30°C) water using a mild synthetic detergent or use the gentle-wash wool program on your household washing machine. Rinse thoroughly and leave out to dry in the shade, protected from direct sunlight (do not use a tumble dryer / do not dry-clean). Leave your equipment for at least 72 hours in quarantine before next use.
If you have any questions, don`t hesitate to contact ↗ us.
Best regards,
Your Mammut Team
